The League of Women Voters of the Columbia Area is participating in the national VOTE411 initiative, an online resource that provides voting information for local, state and national elections.
The League of Women Voters collected information from candidates running for office in Richland and Lexington counties, where each candidate was invited to answer policy questions related to the office they are seeking.
All responses were published on Sept. 23 online, where voters can review candidate information before Election Day on Nov. 4.
“As a nonpartisan organization, the League of Women Voters does not endorse or oppose candidates,” Sara Phillips, president of the League of Women Voters of the Columbia Area, said in the media release. “Instead, our VOTE411 website allows candidates to speak directly to voters in their own words.”
To use the site, voters can enter their residential address and follow the instructions to view their sample ballot.
Early voting for local 2025 races is from Monday, Oct. 20, to Friday, Oct. 31, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lexington County Voter Registration and Election Office, located at 605 West Main Street, Ste. C, in Lexington.
Those requesting an absentee ballot will receive their application by mail from their county voter registration office.
