LETTER TO THE EDITOR

The South Carolina Sex Offender Program is not helping or working for the individuals that are detained there. The South Carolina Department of Mental Health Overseers (Forensics) and the Wellpath Recovery Solutions facility administrators are enabling or allowing certain individuals to do as they please such as to continue in their sexual behavioral patterns such as stalking other residents, staff members, fighting, cursing out/disrespecting others from residents, resident therapeutic assistances, activity therapists, doctors/nurses, exposing themselves and engaging in masturbatory behaviors. When one or two of the residents are violating the facility rules, from the overseers, facility administrator, clinical director, chief of security, the captains, unit managers and resident therapeutic assistance punishes the entire resident population for one or two that violates the rules. I feel that the public needs to know how this program is being run like a prison and not like a treatment program for sex offenders to better themselves and to become law-abiding citizens when released.
