Need a fresh trim? Students in the barbering program at the Lexington County School District Two Innovation Center are now offering free haircuts to the community.
Under the supervision of barbering instructor Chet Henderson, haircuts are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The opportunity allows students to gain the hands-on experience and required training hours needed to earn professional licenses.
Henderson said that this community event not only helps students meet technical skill requirements but also strengthens their customer service abilities by working with clients of all ages.
“From precision cuts to hot towels, come experience the art of barbering from the next generation of barbers,” Henderson said.
While haircuts are provided at no cost, tips are welcome.
Community members interested in receiving a haircut should check in at the front office of the Innovation Center, located at 509 Bulldog Blvd. in Cayce. Visitors must bring a valid ID to receive a visitor's badge. After checking in, exit through the front door and enter the barbering entrance on the left side.
