Lexington Chamber launches Community Conversations series highlighting local leaders

Posted

The Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center has launched a new initiative, Community Conversations, a monthly series highlighting community leaders who are making a difference across the Midlands.

The first one-hour session will take place on Wednesday, July 9, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Chamber’s office, located at 311 W. Main St. in Lexington.

Presented by Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation, the first quarter will focus on the Midlands’ educational institutions, showcasing how initiatives in career training and public and higher education are cultivating success for students and residents.

Community Conversations aims to offer attendees a behind-the-scenes look at numerous institutions and how they are empowering students with skills and knowledge to become engaged and productive citizens.

“We’re excited to offer this series for our members and the community,” said Angelle LaBorde, president and CEO of the Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center. “Through Community Conversations, attendees can connect with these key leaders and understand how their organizations are significantly contributing to our region's progress.”

Gregory Little, president and CEO of Midlands Technical College, will share insights into the institution's role in advancing workforce readiness and education accessibility on July 9.

Admission is complimentary, but due to limited space, advanced registration is required.
