Lexington Chronicle designer, sales manager win 3 SCPA awards

The Lexington County Chronicle’s graphic design and sales departments took home three awards at this year's PALMYs, an S.C. Press Association contest, recognizing the best in print and digital advertising.

The recognitions span a variety of types of ads the team built for clients, from a dance company to an entertainment professional to the Chronicle's own magazines. SCPA contests are peer judged by member papers from other states.

Graphics Manager Cary Howard and Sales & Marketing Manager Kelly Mason earned first place in events and entertainment (division K) for Stringray 803 Entertainment. "Excellent art and and just enough text to prompt curiosity," the judges wrote.

Howard and Mason also earned third place in professional services (divisions K and L combined) for South Carolina Dance Company.

Howard and the Chronicle staff also earned third place in special section or magazine (divisions K and L combined) for the summer 2025 edition of Lakeside Magazine.
