The Joint Municipal Water and Sewer Commission along with the town of Batesburg-Leesville broke ground in a ceremony to celebrate the progress of the Water System Expansion project.
The event took place at the intersection of Calks Ferry and Augusta Highway which is the site of JMWSC’s future booster pump project. This project helps support the town’s corrective action plan to provide residents with a sustainable and high-quality water supply and to help further Lexington County economic development.
The project involves 40,000 feet of a water transmission main being constructed as wellas a 2,500-gallon pump being created and adding 23 fire hydrants with necessaryconnections. The project on the Batesburg-Leesville side will include 21,400 feet of linear pipe and the addition of 33 fire hydrants.
