UPDATED: Lexington County investigators seek tips on deadly West Columbia shooting

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher released the identity of the person who died after he was discovered bleeding and knocking on doors in West Columbia on Friday asking for help.

Charles Boyd Moore Jr., 54, of West Columbia, died from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Anyone with information on the deadly shooting that happened this morning is being asked to share tips through the Midlands Crimestoppers mobile app, or by calling 888-274-6372. Tips can be made anonymously.

"Lexington County detectives are following leads they have developed in a deadly shooting investigation," according to a Facebook post from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department posted around noon on Friday. "They have been in the area of Hammond Avenue in West Columbia since early this morning."

Hammond Avenue is near the Walmart Supercenter on Augusta Road.

First responders were called when the bleeding person started knocking on doors. The person was transported to a hospital and died at the hospital.

"Investigators believe this was an isolated incident between two people who knew each other or had some previous connection," according to the post.

People who provide information may be eligible for a cash reward.
