Christopher Azra Dalne Adkins, 28, was sentenced to 25 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections after he pled guilty to multiple charges, including violent burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Adkins pleaded guilty on Dec. 4 to second-degree violent burglary, third-degree burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle valued at $10,000 or more and failure to stop for blue lights, his second offense.
According to authorities, on Sept. 17, 2023, a Cayce Department of Public Safety officer attempted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle driven by Adkins. When Adkins failed to stop, officers pursued him on a chase, reaching speeds up to 100 mph.
The pursuit ended when the vehicle was disabled and Adkins was taken into custody. Adkins pled guilty to a series of storage unit burglaries in September and October of 2023, including one where a storage unit was burglarized that contained more than 50 firearms.
At the time of the offenses, Adkins was already on probation and had multiple prior convictions.
Adkins also received the maximum sentence of 15 years for second-degree violent burglary and 10 years for possession of a stolen vehicle. His sentences will run concurrently with the burglary charge.
Assistant Solicitor Russell Parker prosecuted the case, and the investigation was conducted by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Cayce Department of Public Safety.
