Lexington Moves Up, River Bluff and Gilbert Return to Top 10 Rankings

The latest S.C. Prep Football Media Class 5A rankings has insured a Top 10 matchup this week between archrivals Lexington and River Bluff.

The Wildcats moved up to fourth in this week’s poll, while the Gators reentered following the 25-14 win over previously ranked and undefeated White Knoll.

The Week Seven contest is set for Oct. 7 at Wildcat Stadium.

Fellow Region 5-5A member Dutch Fork remained atop Class 5A during its bye week. The Silver Foxes face the Timberwolves  at home, looking to win its 29th consecutive region game. 

It was also a return to the Top 10 in Class 3A for Gilbert. The Indians snapped a two-game skid with a 48-25 victory at Lower State to tie Hanahan at number 10. In Class 4A, Irmo fell out of the Top 10 following its 20-14 loss at Richland Northeast.

In Class 2A, defending state champion Gray Collegiate moved up a notch to sixth. The War Eagles travel to Winnsboro for a region showdown with eighth-ranked Fairfield Central.
