The Lexington County School District One Education Foundation will be hosting its Foundation Grand Golf Tournament on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The event will be held at Golden Hills Golf and Country Club (100 Scotland Dr., Lexington) and will begin at 9:30 a.m.
According to a press release, the Lexington One Education Foundation serves and supports Lexington District One students, schools and teachers by providing grants that support literacy, STEM learning, scholarships, families who are dealing with a crisis and more.
The foundation invested $388,398 in the fiscal year 2022-2023. For instance, all kindergarten through second grade students benefited $33,000 from the counting collections for mathematics grant and $22,000 was awarded in scholarships and in higher education grants.
Registering a team costs $500, which includes breakfast, late lunch, prizes, green and cart fees and an award ceremony for participants.
