A new project, Links to Lake Murray, created by the Central Midlands Council of Governments, Central Midlands Transit (COMET) and the South Carolina Department of Transportation, is focusing on two corridors around Lake Murray.

These corridors are S.C. 6 (North Lake Drive) from Dreher Shoals Road to Lake Murray Boulevard and S.C. 60 (Lake Murray Boulevard) from North Lake Drive to St. Andrews Road.

Links to Lake Murray is seeking community input to gain insight on improving safety for those who use those roads.

Individuals can voice their opinions in various ways, including in person or online.

On Feb. 20, individuals are invited to attend two public drop-ins. The first will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at the Meech House, 2121 Lake Murray Blvd. in Columbia.

The second session will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ballentine Park, 1035 Bird Road in Irmo.

Visit www.LINKStoLakeMurray.com for more information and to voice your opinion.
