Wednesday was a celebration of the University of South Carolina women's basketball team in Columbia.
Fans gathered around the South Carolina Statehouse to great the 2021-22 national champions. Among the players in attendance was former Lexington High School Player of the Year Olivia Thompson.
The team and head coach Dawn Staley were presented with awards and plaques of recognition from school, city, state and congressional officials and were formally invited to the White House.
