The annual National Night Out was a night to remember for many children and their parents around the Lexington area.
Each year, the Lexington Police Department celebrates its National Night Out event with the Town of Lexington neighborhoods and the community. This was held at Virginia Hylton Park on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This was an evening filled with fun, food, games and lively music from DJ Jonathan Garcia. Over 15 vendors were present, giving out free hot dogs, breadsticks, salsa chips, ice cream, toys and more.
Children enjoyed the bouncy house, ball throwing games, face painting, video games and the playground at Virginia Hylton Park.
National Night Out is an annual event held on the first Tuesday of August and is designed to enhance the relationship between neighbors, law enforcement and EMS responders while promoting a sense of community.
