Twenty-eight Lexington County officials have announced their endorsement of Attorney General Alan Wilson for governor of South Carolina. The group includes mayors, town officials and county council members.
“These local leaders know what it takes to serve their communities. Families are the backbone of South Carolina and these local leaders represent our shared conservative values, support small businesses, and prioritize families,” Wilson said in a media release. “I’m honored to have their trust as we work together to keep South Carolina strong, maintain its charm, and protect our families and values.”
Officials endorsing Wilson include Tem Miles, Mayor of West Columbia; David Benjamin Moye, West Columbia Town Council; Al Koon, Mayor of Chapin; Fred Taylor, Gilbert Town Council; Chuck Ingle, Pelion Town Council; Larry Sossamon, Pelion Town Council; Juston Ricard, Mayor of Springdale; Kevin Reeley, Springdale Town Council; Steve Hallman, Springdale Town Council; Jacob Wilkerson, Springdale Town Council; Carol McCombs, Gaston Town Council; Scott Simms, Pine Ridge Town Council; Maria Jeffcoat Urbanek, Pine Ridge Town Council; Beth Spires Sturkie, Pine Ridge Town Council; Byron Thomas, Cayce Town Council; Phil Carter, Cayce Town Council; Hunter Sox, Cayce Town Council; Brian Jackson, South Congaree Town Council; Doris Simmons, Swansea Town Council; Bill Danielson, Mayor of Irmo; Todd Cockrell, Lexington County Council; Jim Eckstrom, Lexington County Treasurer; Darrell Hudson, Lexington County Council; Todd Cullum, Lexington County Council; Glen Conwell, Lexington County Council; Beth Carrigg, Lexington County Council; Lisa Comer, Lexington Clerk of Court; and Margaret Fisher, Lexington County Coroner.
