Carolina Lice Center, Irmo’s newest lice treatment facility, officially opened Aug. 18 and is offering free head checks for teachers during August and September.
With the fall school season approaching, the center aims to support local educators and help prevent lice outbreaks in classrooms.
According to a news release, Carolina Lice Center offers a fast, chemical-free lice removal treatment using the Airtek heated-air system. The treatment guarantees clients will be lice-free in one hour and is backed by a 30-day guarantee.
This one-and-done process requires no pre or post-treatment, and no repeat visits are required.
Carolina Lice Center Owner Catherine Collins has been serving families since 2013 in salons in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Wilmington, N.C.
Services are by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled by calling or texting 803-556-LICE (5423) or by visiting www.CarolinaLiceCenter.com.
According to statistics from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, the CDC estimates 6 to 12 million lice cases in the U.S. annually among children ages 3-11.
