Joseph Trenbeath, 17, a rising senior at Northside Christian Academy and member of Boy Scout Troop 95, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout.

According to the release, Joseph has attended numerous summer camps both locally and regionally, including Camp Barstow, the Upstate, North Carolina and Georgia, with the highlight being a 10-day backpacking trek covering more than 60 miles in the mountains of New Mexico at the Philmont Scout Ranch in 2023.

He has also earned 27 merit badges while serving as a leader in his troop in various positions, including librarian, assistant and senior patrol leader.

In 2021, Joseph was elected to and joined the Order of the Arrow, known as the honor society of Scouting.

In November 2024, Joseph led scouts from his troop in completing his Eagle project, which was building and installing 10 bluebird houses for residents, including his grandmother, Gina McCuen, at Wellmore Nursing Home until her passing in September.

Joseph completed his Eagle Scout Board of Review in December 2024, and a formal court of honor will be held in August to recognize his achievement with family, friends, scouts and leaders.

Joseph’s mother, Elizabeth, and his father, Mike, expressed how proud they are of him.

“Joseph’s accomplishment is notably significant to Mike as he served as a Scout leader in one roll or another from 2014 when Joseph joined Cub Scouts in Pack 3 at Timmerman School in Forest Acres until 2022 when he transferred to Troop 95,” the release said.

Joseph plans to remain an active member until he ages out at 18.
