The old Cafe Strudel location near downtown Lexington will soon open as The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli.
The comfort food joint, originally from Columbia, is known for its large cinnamon rolls, and has garnered national recognition from publications such as People Magazine, Food Network and Southern Living, according to a press release. The business offers breakfast and lunch items, too.
“At the heart of the brand is founder and co-owner Jody Kreush, whose journey began in her grandmother’s New York kitchen, where she discovered the power of food to bring people together,” the press release read. “That passion led to a career in hospitality and the creation of The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli, alongside her youngest son, Richard. Built on family recipes, hands-on experience, and a shared commitment to quality and care, the deli quickly grew from a personal dream into one of South Carolina’s most talked-about dining concepts.”
The business’s official opening date and hiring details have not been announced yet.
“This next chapter is incredibly meaningful for us,” Kreush said in the release. “What started as a family passion has grown into something we’re proud to share on a much larger scale. Lexington is a vibrant, growing community, and we’re excited to bring a concept with this level of recognition into a space that already holds so much history.”
The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli’s Columbia location is at 2617 Devine St.
The address of its soon-coming Lexington location is 309 S. Lake Dr.
Lexington’s Cafe Strudel closed at that location when it was purchased by Foundry Hospitality Group last year after about seven years in business. The West Columbia Cafe Strudel location, also purchased by Foundry Hospitality Group, is still open after almost 30 years in business. The hospitality group also owns Ember, downtown Lexington's steakhouse which opened last year.
“To support its continued growth, The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli has partnered with The Foundry Group, a Columbia-based restaurant development, investment, and management Company,” according to the press release announcing The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli’s move to Lexington. “The partnership ensures the brand’s expansion remains thoughtful and strategic while preserving the authenticity and hospitality that define its roots.”
