Silver Fox football running back Maurice Anderson helped Dutch Fork punch its ticket to another Upper State championship after an impressive performance over region rival River Bluff in round three of the 5A Division I playoffs.
The senior ran for over 150 yards and scored two touchdowns as his team won 52-14. Anderson was nearly unstoppable on the ground, averaging almost 14 yards per run. He also had five catches for 45 yards.
Dutch Fork will host Spartanburg for the second time this season in the next round of the playoffs. The team will likely lean on to have another big performance and put Dutch Fork in another state championship.
Dutch Fork girls basketball junior Aliyah Lee had two big performances as the Silver Foxes opened their season.
Lee led the team averaging 20 points and five assists in the first two games. In a 72-62 win over Heathwood Hall, Lee scored 22 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals. Against Hammond, she finished with 18 points, five assists and a steal.
The Silver Foxes had a strong 2023-24 season, winning the 5A Region 4 championship. The team will look to do so again in 2025 and Lee’s development in the offseason will go a long way in helping the team get there.
