PELION NEWS: Senior center, library plan mid-October events

The Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission’s Pelion Senior Center will play Beatball on Monday, Oct. 19. Members will travel to Hamrick’s for bus week on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Wii Bowling will be Thursday, Oct. 22. Members will attend the Senior Prom at Tri-City on Friday, Oct. 23. Daily activities include coffee and conversation at 10 a.m. and “Walk the Pond” at 11. Lunch is served daily at noon.

Activities for Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the Lexington County Library’s Pelion Branch include toddler time at 11 a.m. for ages 12-36 months and Homeschool Hub at 3 p.m. for families with children. Preschool story time will meet Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. for families with children. Adults age 50 and up will meet on Oct. 21 at 5:30 p.m. to paint pumpkins. The Spinecrackers Book Club meets Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. to read any title by Ashley Poston.

Adults will also participate in senior chair yoga each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11 a.m. and mah jong each Wednesday at noon.

The movie “Hocus Pocus” will play on the walking trail on Friday, Oct. 30. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Movie begins at 7 p.m. “Ghostbusters” will begin around 8:45 p.m.

The Pelion Order of the Eastern Star recently initiated Elizabeth Douglas into the order. Patricia Collins was also welcomed as a new member.
