The Annual South Carolina Ag + Art Tour was held on Saturday, May 30, throughout Lexington County.
The Ag + Art Tour is a free, self-guided tour of farms and markets featuring local artisans at every stop. During their tour, visitors had the opportunity to see first-hand where their food comes from, watch artists in action and purchase their works.
This year, nine Lexington County farms and businesses were listed on the SC Ag + Art tour map. They included the following: Fire Barrel Farm located in Swansea, Hollow Creek Distillery located in Gilbert, Lexington County Museum located in Lexington, Locklair Farm Supply located in Gaston, Loveland Coffee located in Irmo, Old Turtle Pond Farm located in Cayce, Roadside Market at Palms to Palmettos located in West Columbia, Seven Oaks Plant Shop located in Irmo, and Sugar Barn Farm located in Swansea.
Each of the stops had food vendors, artists and crafts for sale, and a working farm tour, which included their livestock. SC Ag + Art Tour began in 2012 in York County and has since expanded into the nation’s largest free self-guided farm and art tour. Tours at each of the sites began at 9 a.m. and concluded at 4 p.m.
