FRIDAY, MAY 16

Paddle & Pint
Saluda Shoals Park (5605 Bush River Rd.) invites you to their Paddle & Pint event. Enjoy an evening on the scenic Lower Saluda River with a guided paddle, and after the adventure on the water, unwind with a craft beer tasting featuring a selection of local brews. Participants receive a complimentary glass to take home. This event is designed for all skill levels and runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets cost between $47-$94. Paddle & Pint is for ages 21 and up only. The Best of Everything: A Tom Petty Tribute (concert)
Once again, members of the popular local bands Tokyo Joe and the Root Doctors join forces to pay tribute to Tom Petty at Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.). Enjoy an evening of faithfully recreated Petty classics like “American Girl,” “Don’t Come Around Here No More,” “Free Fallin’” and many more. You’ll even see a classic Rickenbacker guitar just like Petty’s. This show is presented by O’Hara’s Public House and Floor Boys, and Prettier Than Matt kicks things off at 6 p.m. Admission is $25. Bluegrass & Company (concert)
Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St.) welcomes Bluegrass & Company to their Friday night concert stage. Car & Truck Cruise In
BR Clean & Restoration of CSRA (1623 Columbia Hwy. N) invites you to an All Day Cruise In and Parts Swap Meet. Both cars and trucks are welcome, from classic to modern makes and models, foreign or domestic, and you can bring your unwanted auto parts to help other car/truck enthusiasts restore their vehicles. JJ Sansaverino featuring Vivian Sessoms (concert)
Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St.), guitarist JJ Sansaverino and vocalist Vivian Sessoms host “An Evening of Soul Jazz Rhythms.” Expect to hear hits and classics by Janet Jackson, The Isley Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Al Jarreau, Michael Jackson and many more. Riverbanks Run
Riverbanks Zoo & Garden (500 Wildlife Pkwy.) invites you to get some exercise for a good cause with their Riverbanks Run event. This is a wild 5k race that benefits wildlife conservation, and the Riverbanks Run will wind through the park’s scenic back roads, cross the Saluda River and pass some of the most popular exhibits in the zoo. The Market At Icehouse
Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) hosts their Market at Icehouse event. Browse through a farmer/grower and local artisan market that uses local vendors to promote, support and encourage local production. Riverstone (concert)
The Columbia Americana duo Riverstone performs at Hazelwood Brewing Company (711 E. Main St.). The band, made up of Jeff and Natalie Lucero, performs a mix of covers and originals with rich vocal harmonies starting at 3 p.m. and running until 6 p.m. This concert is free to attend. Historically Speaking
The Lexington County Main Library (5440 Augusta Rd.) invites you to another edition of their “Historically Speaking” lecture series, presented by the Lexington County Museum. Lego Club
The Batesburg-Leesville Branch Library (203 Armory St.) hosts their weekly Lego Club meeting. The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) hosts another edition of the Icehouse Live! concert series, presented by the Lexington Medical Center. This week’s group is the popular variety band Hijacked, who play high-energy 80s rock, 70s funk and today’s dance hits starting at 6:30 p.m. This show is free to attend, and food, beer, wine, soft drinks and water are available for purchase. The SC State Fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Dr.) hosts the South Carolina Food Truck & Beer Festival on Saturday, May 17. Sample food from a wide variety of the area’s most popular food trucks serving fan favorites, including fresh lobster rolls, gourmet mini donuts made to order, giant eggrolls, wood-fired pizza, Jamaican cuisine and more. The festival also features dozens of regional and national craft brews to wash down your grub. This event runs from noon to 5 p.m. and admission costs between $5 and $50. The Enoree River Winery (1650 Dusty Rd.) hosts their weekly Unpack the Porch event on Saturday, May 17. Head over to the Hampton-Preston Mansion & Gardens (1615 Blanding St.) on Sunday, May 18, for the brightest festival in town, the Drink Pink Rose’ Festival. The festival celebrates its 10th year with exceptional wine, delectable food and live music. Enjoy a selection of rosé wines and three types of paella (seafood, vegetarian and game) prepared by Chef Kristian Niemi from Bourbon and Black Rooster. The festival runs from noon to 5 p.m. and admission costs between $75 and $125. The Workshop Theatre of Columbia (1301 Columbia College Dr.) presents “Legally Blonde: The Musical” on Sunday, May 18. Enjoy a fabulously fun, award-winning musical based on the hit movie. “Legally Blonde: The Musical” follows the transformation of Elle Woods from sorority stereotype to legal lion, and it’s packed with memorable songs and dynamic dances.
