Techo-Bloc makes it official with Lexington County

A landscaping products supplier is officially moving to Lexington County, promising a $45 million investment and 46 jobs.

This economic development initiative, once referred to as Project Terrace, would bring Techo-Bloc Corporation, a Canadian company, to a private parcel on Dixiana Road in Cayce near Saxe Gotha Industrial Park.

“This is their first Southeastern facility,” a spokesman for the company said during a Lexington County Council meeting during which the company’s move passed the second of three readings. “They do already have four or five other facilities in the United States, but this investment—I think it's just the tip of the iceberg with them. They have big plans, and I know they're super excited to get to know you all better.”

Council voted unanimously for the move, and no one from the public spoke against the project during a public hearing held on second reading.

According to the company’s website, Techo-Bloc aims to “create products that never leave any homeowner, contractor or designer feeling ‘stuck’ with their options. … [Its] success has allowed [its] distribution network to grow to over 700 stores across the USA & Canada, and [its] team has grown from 5 to over 600.”

This company has locations in Illinois, Indiana and Pennsylvania.

According to a release from Gov. Henry McMaster’s office, Techo-Bloc Corporation has more than 850 employees and distributes products to over 900 stores across the United States and Canada.

“Manufacturing companies like Techo-Bloc recognize that South Carolina offers the workforce, business climate and support they need to succeed,” McMaster said in the release. “The $45 million investment and 46 new jobs are a win for the community and our entire state, and we are proud to welcome Techo-Bloc to Lexington County.”

Operations are expected to begin in fall 2026, and those interested in applying to work there can visit the company’s website.

This economic development project was made official not long after a few other companies’ moves to the nearby Saxe Gotha Industrial Park were made official. The 714-acre space has only 137.57 acres left available for purchase, according to county leaders.

Cardiff Products Corporation is bringing $99.6 million in capital investments and 94 new jobs to the county through its new home at Saxe Gotha.

Alltape Adhesive Manufacturing Incorporated is bringing $70 million and 130 new jobs to the area through its new home at Saxe Gotha.
