It’s strawberry season! At McKenzie Farm, located at 3911 Augusta Hwy. in Gilbert, you can pick strawberries Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., through May. “We will provide you with a 1gal or 1/2 gal baskets and let you explore our fields on the hunt for the best berries,” according to mckenzie-farm.com/upick. “We ask that you be kind to our plants so they will continue to grow the best berries and make sure you can still fit your hand under the handle when filling the buckets … if they are overflowing, come back, and we will happily give you another bucket!” Learn more on their website.

Tasting event at Hollow Creek Distillery
Hollow Creek Distillery in the Leesville area of Lexington County invites you to one of its weekly tasting events. Lexington PD Foundation Benefit Concert
A ticketed event to support the Lexington Police Department will take place at Lexington’s Icehouse Amphitheater on Friday, May 15, at 6 p.m. “Join us on May 15th at the Icehouse Amphitheater for Idlewild Revival, the Allman Brothers Tribute Band in support of the Lexington Police Department Foundation,” according to the event listing. “This group consists of eight Charleston locals, each talented musicians in their own ways. Bassist Wayne Mitchum is joined by drummer JT Rollerson, drummer Wes Powers, keyboardist Bill Nance, vocalist Tim Kirkendall, guitarist Michael Davis, guitarist Rev. Dr. Johnny Mac, and Bobby Alvarez on percussion. The group has been playing the Allman Brothers tribute show together for the last four years at spots like Charleston Music Hall, Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina’s Party at the Point. The show will open with Schoolboy Johnny, a Bad Company tribute band, with music beginning at 6:30 PM. Schoolboy Johnny bring the iconic tunes of Bad Company to the stage with an electrifying performance that is dedicated to the sound, style and energy of the group. Market season at the Icehouse Amphitheater in downtown Lexington will return on Saturday, May 16. Located at 107 W. Main St. in downtown Lexington, the market will be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May 16 through Sept. 26, excluding July 4. “The Market at Icehouse is primarily intended as a farmer/grower and local artisan market, utilizing a community-friendly atmosphere to promote, support and encourage local production while educating residents on the benefits of eating fresh produce and supporting local artists and the Certified SC program,” according to a statement on the town’s website.

On Friday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 to 10 p.m. is the 9th Annual ColaJazz Jazz & Roots Fest at Finlay Park, located at 896 Blanding St. in Columbia. It is free and open to the public. “ColaJazz & Roots Fest is Columbia’s cultural blueprint in sound.
