Cayce Fall Fest returns in October with three local bands, ample kids activities

A signature Cayce event is set to be back in action for a second-straight year following a two-year COVID-19 hiatus.

The Cayce Fall Fest, which returned for the first time since 2019 last October, is set to take over Granby Gardens Park (1800 12th St.) once again on Oct. 7.

The free event goes from 12 to 8 p.m. and will feature live music, local food and beverages, a DJ and dance floor and a kids area, with the city promising “an afternoon of family fun.”

That kids area, per a Facebook event, will include face painters, balloon artists, a petting zoo and inflatables.

The music will all come from established local bands, with Willie Wells & the Blue Ridge Mountain Grass, led by the owner of West Columbia bluegrass hub Bill's Pickin’ Parlour, and veteran Columbia rock band The Accused taking the opening slots. Mystic Vibrations, a reggae-leaning, rhythm-dominated Columbia band that has been going for two decades, will serve as the headliner.

The fall calendar in the Cayce/West Columbia looks to be busy as ever this year, with West Columbia’s inaugural Meeting Street Music Fest set to take place Sept. 16 in addition to the annual Fall Back Fest  on Nov. 3.

Cayce's Fall Fest joins a couple of other prominent events on city’s annual calendar, including the Soiree on State block party held each spring and the Christmas in Cayce festivities held during the holiday season.
