Too Much Sylvia (concert)

The veteran Carolina band Too Much Sylvia plays at the Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) as part of the Town of Lexington’s continuing free concert series Lexington Live. The band, which has been together for over 30 years, plays a mix of classic rock, R&B, beach music and their own originals. Showtime is 6:30 p.m., and the concert is free. Farm to Table Dinner

Head over to The FARM (1127 Corley Mill Rd.) for what looks to be adelicious Farm to Table Dinner. Chef Scott Hall presents a family-style meal served with wines chosen to complement the dishes. Kenny George Band (concert)

2022 West Columbia Spring Fling

Kinetic Derby Day

The corner of State and Meeting in West Columbia will be filled with art, soapbox racing and an obstacle course for the third annual Kinetic Derby Day. The event, which returns for the first time in two years, is meant to spur creative thinking, competition and family fun as teams come together to build unusual vehicles and art installations. “Junie B. Jones The Musical”

The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College hosts the Columbia Children’s Theatre’s production of “Junie B. Jones: The Musical” at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Everybody’s favorite kindergartener is now in first grade, and it’s a big leap. Join Junie B. and all your favorites from the popular children’s book, like Lucille, Herb, May, Sheldon, That Grace, Mr. Scary and Gladys Gutzman the Lunch Lady, as Junie B. navigates the complicated world of first grade. “Purple Haze” (film)

The Icehouse Amphitheater screens “Purple Haze: A Conservation Film” tonight. Naturalist Zach Steinhauser debuts his long-awaited documentary on one of the many wonders of the Lake Murray and Lexington area, the purple martins. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages from Tim Popcorn and Old Mill Brew Pub will be on sale starting at 7 p.m. The film starts at 8 p.m. and ends at 9:20 p.m. Admission is $10 per person. Soiree on State

Join the City of Cayce on State Street (between Poplar and Railroad) for Soiree on State, a day of fun for the whole family. There will be artists, a free kids area (with bounce courses, face painting and a balloon artist), food vendors, a variety of musicians (Sam Edwards, Mitchell Lee, Cash Money Experience, and Tokyo Joe) and much more. Record Store Day

Scratch N’ Spin (513 12th St. in West Columbia) participates in the national/international record store promotion Record Store Day with exclusive vinyl releases and a performance by local metal band MNRVA. “This event has helped to bring vinyl records back into mainstream pop culture and appeals to music aficionados, nostalgists, and the newer, younger generation discovering the specific sound that only vinyl can offer,” the shop enthuses in a news release. Schoolboy Johnny

Greater CWC Business Breakfast Meeting
The Greater CWC Chamber of Commerce hosts their Breakfast Meeting from 7:45 to 9 a.m. at Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School (3300 West Campus Road). The breakfast is an opportunity to network and meet other business leaders in the local community. The Chamber will be announcing their Business of the Quarter and Ambassador of the Quarter at the breakfast, and there will also be a special announcement from the police chiefs of Cayce and West Columbia. Saluda Shoals Park Jazz Series

Spring Jam
The 2022 Spring Jam at Colonial Life Arena (801 Lincoln St. in Columbia) brings a group of platinum-selling hip-hop artists to town on April 22. S.C. Philharmonic (concert)
