Elvis Ballet

The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo) and the South Carolina Ballet present a production simply titled “Elvis Ballet.” The performance is a mix of dance and music paying tribute to the legendary Elvis Presley and the timeless hits of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.  Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $50. Riverstone (concert)

Spring Market

Crooked Creek Park (1098 Old Lexington Hwy. in Chapin) hosts a Spring Market. Shoppers can purchase one-of-a-kind items including paintings, handmade jewelry, home décor items, and much more. Tartan Day Highland Games

Head over to 2001 Charleston Hwy. in Cayce and enjoy the Tartan Day Highland Games. Saturday’s packed schedule includes feats of strength like the caber toss, the hammer throw and the sheaf toss, live music from Tuatha Dea, SYR and Eireann’s Call, and an expansive British car show. Sounds of A&R (concert)

Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) and the Sounds of A&R (singer April May Webb and trumpeter Roy Hargrove) present “An Evening of Soul Jazz Songs.” Rod Foster & Company backs the duo, and you can expect to hear hits and classics by Roberta Flack, Curtis Mayfield, Lauryn Hill, Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye and many more. Nashville singer/songwriter Mac Leaphart performs at Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce). Dining On The Dam

You might not think of the Lake Murray Dam (1832 N. Lake Dr.) as the place to find the best food in town, but the “Dining on the Dam” series might change that. The Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center presents one of Lexington’s most notable events, where over 1,200 guests from the Midlands enjoy delicious food, beer and wine, cocktails and live music on the from The Hitman Party Band. This event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and tickets are $165, which includes a catered meal from Southern Way Catering and an open bar with cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages. The Sole Purpose (concert)

The Icehouse Live concert series rolls on at the Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) with a performance by The Sole Purpose. The Drifters (concert)

The classic doo-wop group The Drifters perform at the Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo). Their show, titled “Sing It From The Rooftop,” returns the historic group to its roots with a repertoire of timeless hits like “Up on the Roof,” “Under the Boardwalk,” “There Goes My Baby,” “Stand by Me” and more of the classics that made them the first African American vocal group to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Gregorian (concert)

The Newberry Opera House (1201 McKibben St.) hosts Gregorian on Friday, April 5th. This group of eight classically trained English vocalists are on their first North American tour, and the show includes guest performers Amelia Brightman and countertenor Narcis. Columbia International Festival

The Columbia International Festival returns to the SC State Fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Dr.) on Saturday, April 6th. Sample exotic foods from around the world, take in the native dance performances, shop for authentic clothing, jewelry, crafts and souvenirs, learn a craft or take in a fashion show at this multicultural event.
