Since golf’s resumption in 2020, Dustin Johnson has stood above the rest of the field.
The Dutch Fork HIgh School graduate and world’s top-ranked golfer claimed his 3rd PGA tour event of the year. On Monday, Johnson shot a 2-under-par 64 in the final round to beat out Justin Thomas and win the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.
It was Johnson’s 23rd overall PGA Tour title. More important, Johnson clinched the FedExCUP to claim $15 million prize and silver trophy for the 1st time. He became the first No. 1 seed at the Tour Championship to win the FedEx Cup since Tiger Woods in 2009.
Up next on the PGA Tour is the Safeway Open on Napa, Calif.
