Students at a school near Pelion have been evacuated and other district schools are on lockdown Friday morning, according to Lexington District 1.
A threat was called in against Forts Pond Elementary, District spokeswoman Mary Beth Hill said Friday morning.
As a precaution, students were taken to Pelion High School, which is about 2 miles away.
Law Enforcement put all schools on lockout, Hill said. That means no one is allowed in or out. SLED and other law enforcement are sweeping Forts Pond now, she said shortly before noon Friday.
