Sewer overflow reported in Cayce

Posted

Cayce had an overflow of sanitary sewage in the area near Riverland Park, according to City Manager Tracy Hegler Thursday afternoon.
The City of Cayce Wastewater Collection Department identified the overflow at 10 pm Wednesday.
An electrical failure at the pump station led to the overflow in the sewer system and as a result, this caused an on-going amount of sanitary sewer to the ditches and tributaries in the area.
Cayce has already made the proper repairs. SC DHEC has been notified of the spill.
