At least 10 of the 11 Chronicle Country playoff teams are certain of their first-round playoff destinations.
Defending Class 2A champion Gray Collegiate, top-ranked Region 4-5A champion Dutch Fork, Region 5-3A champion Gilbert, region runners-up Lexington and Brookland-Cayce, and ISAA Region 1 8-man champion W.W. King Academy will all open play at home.
River Bluff, Northside Christian, Chapin and Batesburg-Leesville will all open on the road.
That leaves Irmo, which is tentatively scheduled to play host to North Myrtle Beach in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs. This is contingent on the S.C. High School League Appeals Committee's Oct. 31 ruling on the postseason status of Region 5-4A member Ridge View.
The executive committee sanctioned the school for reportedly utilizing three ineligible players. As a result of the decision, the Blazers had to forfeit their victories, which moved Irmo up to second place in the region behind A.C. Flora.
If the appeal is upheld, Ridge View will be readmitted to the playoffs as a second seed, and Irmo will drop to a third seed and open the playoffs on the road.
All games start at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4

Fox Creek at Gray Collegiate

Hanahan at Brookland-Cayce
