2 Leesville residents arrested following seizure of meth, marijuana, cash and guns

Posted

Two Leesville residents were recently arrested following the discovery of “a large quantity of meth, marijuana, cash and guns after executing a search warrant at a Leesville home,” the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department announced.

Arromus Abney, 33, is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, while Miranda Lloyd, 26, is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, receiving stolen goods and unlawfully placing a child at risk of or causing harm.

“Lexington County narcotics agents conducted controlled purchases of meth from both Abney and Lloyd, which gave the agents probable cause for a search warrant of the residence,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon is quoted in a Facebook post. “Agents executed the search warrant and seized more than six pounds of marijuana, eight grams of meth, 10 firearms, drug distribution equipment and more than $12,000 in cash.”

The post notes that one of the firearms taken from the home was reported stolen out of Lexington County.

According to court records, Abney had cash surety bonds set totaling $30,000, while Lloyd had cash surety bonds set totaling $3,000.

The sheriff’s department release notes that both have been released from the Lexington County Detention Center, having met the conditions of their bonds.

This is a developing story and will continue to be updated.
