It was a day of double recognition and honors for Dutch Fork wide receiver Antonio Williams.
The senior standout was officially presented his jersey for the 2022 Under Armour All-America Game. It will take place Jan. 2, 2022 in Orlando, Fla.
"There's been a lot of great players at Dutch Fork and to be the 1st selected for this game is a great honor and I'm ready to play," Williams said.
This season, Williams has 1,478 all-purpose yards, 38 receptions and 11 total touchdowns. He has offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida State, Notre Dame and the University of South Carolina.
Joining him in the Sunshine State are defensive back Jeadyn Lukas (Mauldin), offensive lineman Collin Sadler (Greenville), linebacker Jaylen Sneed (Hilton Head Island) and wide receiver Adam Randall (Myrtle Beach).
"I think it's going to prepare me for college," Williams said. "There's going to be some great players there, some great competition and I'm excited."
Nearly an hour later, Williams learned he was also selected to participate in the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives North-South All-Star Game.
This year's rosters will feature even more top players from South Carolina following the cancellation of the Shrine Bowl for the 2nd straight year.
"For the first time in its history, the best 88 players in the state will play in the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl,"  game director Scott Earley said. "The South Carolina Athletics Coaches Association and the South Carolina Football Coaches Association are excited to witness these future collegiate stars in action. We believe, as always, that stars shine brighter at the beach."
Gray Collegiate running back KZ Adams and offensive lineman Alec Coleman and Irmo safety Nick Emmanwari were picked for the North team coached by Calhoun County's Wayne Farmer.
The South team will be led by head coach Art Craig of Timberland. Among the selected players with Williams were teammate defensive back Jaden Kinard of Dutch Fork, wide receiver Zavier Short and offensive lineman Chase Sweigart of Chapin, wide receiver Skylar King of Brookland-Cayce, offensive lineman Levi Gould of River Bluff and tight end Gray Leaphart of Gilbert.
In addition to the game, the winner of "Mr. South Carolina Football" will be announced at halftime.
Players not selected to the North/South All-Star Game could play in the The Carolina Bowl Senior Showcase. It takes place the next day Dec. 12 at Gaffney High School at 4 pm.
