A pair of Chronicle Country teams returned home Dec. 30 with holiday tournament titles.
In Greenville, defending Class 2A champion Gray Collegiate defeated host school Greenville 58-54 to win the Palmetto Bracket of the Poinsettia Classic.
Montraivis White led the War Eagles with 17 points, Treyvon Maddox had 15 points and Mychael Mitchell finished with 12.
Over in King’s Mountain, N.C., the Yellow Jackets defeated Butler (N.C.) 80-65 to win the Mountaineer Classic.
Te’Andre Summons had 22 points, Brandon Crawford finished with 21 points and three blocks, Madden Collins had 16 points and six assists and A.J. Brand finished with 11 points for Irmo.
Summons and Collins were named to the All-Tournament team and Crawford was named Most Outstanding Player.
