The Lexington girls and Irmo boys basketball teams moved up a notch in the latest South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association polls.
The Lady Wildcats moved up to sixth in Class 5A, while the Yellow Jackets are up to third in Class 4A. The positions remained unchanged for defending Class 2A boys basketball champion Gray Collegiate Academy and its sister counterpart and Lexington boys.
The Gilbert girls’ basketball team fell to 10th in Class 3A entering its Region 5-3A opener against Orangeburg-Wilkinson. The Lady Indians play host to Lower Richland on Jan. 13.
