Lexington Zoe’s Transitioning to New Mediterranean Chain

Posted

A Lexington location of fast-casual Mediterranean chain Zoe’s Kitchen will soon become a Cava, another widespread Mediterranean chain.

The new Cava location is set to open at 5166 Sunset Blvd. Suite A, in a building that also houses a Red Bowl Asian Bistro and a Tropical Smoothie Cafe, sometime in December, a manager at the Zoe’s location confirmed to the Chronicle. The Zoe’s location’s last day in operation was Sept. 14.

Current employees at the Sunset Boulevard Zoe’s will be given the option to be carried over to Cava, the manager said.

Cava acquired Zoe’s Kitchen in 2018 and has gradually been shifting many Zoe’s locations into Cava, including in South Carolina. The company has already transformed two Zoe’s in the state into Cavas and has announced plans for two others besides the one in Lexington (including another Midlands location in Forest Acres).

According to Cava’s website, it has more than 200 locations in 21 states and the District of Columbia that are open or are set to open soon.
