A new location of the Midlands’ quintessential Southern food chain has opened in Lexington County.
Lizard’s Thicket opened a new location in the Red Bank area Jan. 16 at 1772 S. Lake Dr. The new-construction restaurant had been in the works for about a year.
Like all chain locations, it’s open from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. each day, offering breakfast until 11:30 am. on weekdays and until noon on weekends.
The new Lizard’s Thicket is located behind a McDonald’s and beside the Shoppes at White Knoll shopping center that is home to the Red Bank area’s Walmart and Lowe’s.
The Columbia-based chain’s website lists 14 locations, including the newly opened outpost, with all but one (a Florence outlier) located in the Columbia area.
Lizard’s Thicket’s specialty is its meat-and-three combinations, offering the option to pair meats like fried pork chops, chicken fried steaks and beef stew with vegetables like green beans, black-eyed peas and macaroni and cheese.
