Halloween spirit and delicious aromas were in the air at Gilbert Community Park Oct. 20-22 as the Foodees Food and Culture Festival returned to Lexington County for the second time this year with a three-day Spooktacular. Seasonal hits from “Thriller” to “Monster Mash” to “This Is Halloween” rang out. Vendors served up food covering a variety of cultures and cuisines and also handed out candy to kids in attendance, many of whom showed up in costume. Kids activities also included a sack race and karaoke. In addition to the food vendors, there were several craft vendors in attendance. Foodees, which previously took over the Barnyard Flea Market in the Oak Grove area in June, is a traveling festival that has been hitting spots across the Carolinas since last year.
