Photos: Lexington Police provides Bountiful Harvest for community

Posted

For another year, Lexington County residents in need enjoyed a Bountiful Harvest at the Icehouse Amphitheater Nov. 21. Lexington Police — along with the community-and-police-connecting nonprofit Serve & Connect, various other local law enforcement agencies and sponsorship help from Walmart — kept going with their pre-Thanksgiving event targeted at feeding the community, packing more than 200 food boxes (named Greg’s Groceries after Greg Alia, the deceased husband of Serve & Connect’s founder who gave his life in the line of duty for the Forest Acres Police Department). In addition to distributing the boxes, there was a community resource fair with more than 35 vendors and a free catered meal from Hudson's Smokehosue BBQ.
