White Knoll football quarterback Landon Sharpe was voted male Athlete of the Week after a five-touchdown performance in the Timberwolves second-round playoff game.

Sharpe’s performance lifted White Knoll over last season’s runner-up, Fort Dorchester. Sharpe was efficient in the game throwing 13-19 for 182 yards as the team improved to (11-0) on the season and advanced to the 5A Lower State semifinal against Sumter Friday, Nov. 17.

Miles put up back-to-back impressive performances for the Lexington cross country team as they advanced through the state championship. In the qualifier, she ran the course with a team-best time of 19 minutes and 20 seconds for fifth overall. Her contributions helped Lexington finish the qualifier as the No. 1 team in its group.

She finished with the second-fastest time on the team in Saturday’s championship meet. The team came up just short of winning the state title, finishing as runner-up.
