Streaking Lexington Gets Highest S.C. Prep Football Media Ranking Since 2015

Posted

Lexington is not just riding high in the Region 4-5A standings.

The Wildcats’ seven-game winning streak has them at their highest ranking in the S.C. Prep Football Media poll since 2015.  Coach Perry Woolbright’s team moved up a notch to third in Class 5A behind region rival Dutch Fork and Dorman, coached ironically by former Lexington running back Dustin Curtis.

The Cavaliers and Hillcrest each received one of two first-place votes not given to the Silver Foxes. Dutch Fork travels to River Bluff Oct. 21 and close the regular season at Lexington Oct. 28. The Wildcats travel to Aiken Oct. 21.

While Gilbert remained at ninth in Class 3A, defending Class 2A champion Gray Collegiate moved up to fifth in its rankings. It is idle this week.
