Tartan Day South event in Cayce honors Celtic culture

This four-day event began on Thursday, April 4 at Steel Hands Brewery in Cayce with an evening of music with Celtic Conundrum. On Friday, April 5, a Celtic concert was held at the Icehouse Amphitheater at 6 p.m. Bands included Eireann’s Call, Tuatha Dea and SYR (Great Irish Bands). On Saturday, April 6, the Highland Games & Celtic Festival were held at the Historic Columbia Speedway in Cayce. This was a day that began at 9 a.m. Events included highland athletics, traditional dancing exhibitions, Celtic music, mass pip bands, mid-day parade to the field with the Irish bagpipes and different clans, sheep and duck dog herding, birds of prey exhibitions, classic British car show, Celtic marketplace, kiddie rides, Sottish military history presentations, blacksmith, colonial village and other vendors.
