White Knoll off to a 2-0 start at the Red Bank Invitational

The Red Bank Invitational resumes Feb. 27 at White Knoll High School.

The eight-team weeklong tournament has had six games played so far with the host team holding a 2-0 record. After opening with a 10-2 win over Irmo, the Timberwolves shut out Newberry 5-0 behind a combined no-hitter thrown by Connor Wood and Jeremy Powell.

In other Day Two games:

Camden 7, Irmo 2 

Nation Ford 7, Dreher 5

South Aiken 3, J.L. Mann 1

Feb. 25 Games

Airport 2, West Ashley 1

Miller Harrison struck out eight batters in five innings and allowed just three hits as the Eagles improved to 2-0 on the season.

Corbin Wright had two hits, scored on a wild pitch and threw two scoreless innings of relief. Cam Atkins had an RBI fielder’s choice.

Airport will play in a tournament at Strom Thurmond High School starting March 2 against Spring Valley.

Feb. 28 Games

Camden vs. White Knoll, 5:30 p.m.

Dreher vs. South Aiken, 8 p.m.

Irmo vs. Newberry, 8 p.m. 

March 4 Games

Fourth seed Games, 9 a.m.

Third seed Games, 11:30 a.m.

Second seed Games, 2 p.m.
