The Lexington Police Department is raising money for its Relay for Life team.
Officers and volunteers are collecting donations at Chick-fil-A of Lexington during breakfast and lunch over 2 days and will be working with Panera at the Relay for Life event at the Lexington High School on Friday evening.
Today and tomorrow, Lexington Police Department officers, with the help from Volunteers in Police Services members, will be at the Chick-fil-A of Lexington, at 5560 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington, from 6 am until 2 pm each day.
Officers and V.I.P.S. will be collecting donations of cash, check or credit card at the front door area of the restaurant and in the drive thru lanes.
Chick-fil-A of Lexington is giving away complimentary treat or sandwich cards to use at a later visit for those who make certain donations. There will also be Relay for Life apparel and gear for purchase.
On Friday, the Lexington Police Department will be at the Relay for Life event at Lexington High School, at 2463 Augusta Road, beginning at 6 pm. Panera will provide iced coffee and a cookie decorating station.
All money donated will benefit the American Cancer Society.
