Healing can be slow

Posted

Over a month ago I had a fall on a motor-scooter.
The tip of a toe needed 5 stitches.
My ribs were bruised but fortunately not broken.
The foot wound became infected and has been slow to heal.
An external wound can be treated from the outside, but all wounds must be treated by our bodies’ immune system.
Healing aids come from a variety of sources.
I am thankful for antibiotics, but the healing properties of natural medicines should not be ignored. Things like manuka honey, colloidal silver, vitamin O, turmeric, coconut oil, aloe, charcoal paste, tea tree oil, oil of oregano, frankincense and sandalwood oil have many documented healing properties.
Healing can come from what we eat — and what we avoid eating.
Sugar inhibits our immune system and can really slow down healing, particularly in a diabetic.
Foods high in antioxidants promote healing.
Eating a lot of meat will slow down healing.
Other factors enter in from the emotional and mental health side.
Stress and worry can suppress healing.
Even impatience can interfere with healing when we cannot wait long enough before resuming normal activity.
Last, and certainly not least, is the spiritual component for healing.
We were created by God who also created the heavens and the earth.
He has the power to heal when it falls within His perfect will and purpose to do so.
We have all read accounts, perhaps know people, or have received some type of healing as the result of prayer and God’s divine intervention.
Faith will always be the key when it comes to God’s hand in healing.
