Proud to be a C-section mom

I am a mother of 3, and yes, all of them were by Cesarean delivery. Shocking right?
Many women face complications during pregnancies that challenge how we give birth.
Many health care professionals prefer Cesarean delivery due to many different factors. Most feel more comfortable performing a Cesarean delivery due to possible vaginal complications and the risk of being sued.
I can tell you that my 1st pregnancy was banner, while my 2nd was trying and my 3rd was complicated. That was my preemie baby.
My 2nd pregnancy went from normal, to me being told to prepare for a miscarriage, then to bed rest and being placed on blood pressure medication that ended in an allergic reaction.
I finally decided to take control. My precious 2nd baby was born full-term and completely healthy. While I had the option of a vaginal birth, I chose a Cesarean delivery.
Normally, if the baby is breach, or you pose a high risk pregnancy, they will choose Cesarean delivery for you.
I learned that after 2 Cesareans, it is mandatory that you continue with this choice of delivery if you choose to have more children, as was my 3rd delivery.
You have no choice.
It is painful. It takes time to heal. There are complications and trust me, a huge support group is what you will need to get through it.
Not all women have that. I have done it both alone and with help.
For those women just starting motherhood and facing this decision, you do have a choice.
Do your research and ask questions. See what is best for you, your health and your baby.
Never be afraid to stand up and fight for what you believe in.
As for me and my choices, I am proud to be a C-section mom!

c-section, health wanted, health
