Sweet, sweet Christmas

Posted

Christmas has been a fond memory of mine since childhood.
I remember going to my grandparents’ house on Christmas Eve for our family get together.
We would bring a dish and presents for everyone including cousins.
My parents always hosted Christmas at their house.
It was always magical.
The days leading up to Christmas were filled with decorating our home, shopping for gifts and watching many classic Christmas movies.
Some of my favorite movies include: A Christmas Story, The Grinch, Christmas with the Kranks, Home Alone, Jingle All the Way and The Polar Express.
It has been our family tradition to ride together listening to Christmas music and driving through neighborhoods looking at all the wondrous lights.
The smell of fresh baked cookies all through the house brought so much joy.
We would leave these out for Santa with milk.
We rushed to get ready for bed and fall fast asleep awaiting Santa Claus.
Christmas mornings were always my favorite.
I would hop out of bed and rush to our living room where toys sat for me and my siblings.
We were always thankful for anything we received.
It has always been a blessing to spend the holidays with my family for as long as I can remember.
All of our remaining family still gather every year to continue these traditions.
I’m so thankful to share traditions with my own little family, too.

Christmas memory, christmas memories
