Is your sunscreen poisonous?

Posted

It’s almost the end of summer break.
Many of us are still trying to fit a vacation into our schedules.
If you’re in the sunlight and enjoying outdoor activities, make sure to bring your sunscreen.
UV light can cause skin cancer and prematurely ages your skin.
20 minutes of sunlight a day is healthy, as it boosts our Vitamin D and mood.
Do you have the right sunscreen?
Use a micronized zinc oxide SPF 15 broad-spectrum sunscreen everyday. Use SPF 30 if you’re spending the day
on the beach or will be outside for
extended periods.
Use enough for your entire body. Make sure to apply it 20 minutes before exposure.
Reapply every 2 hours.
Other sunscreens may contain toxic chemicals that can affect hormones like estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and thyroid.
Those imbalances can cause early puberty, premature breast development for young girls and scrotum growth for boys.
The ingredients cannot be detoxified by your liver and can be detected in your blood, urine and breast milk for up to 2 days after a single application.
Always check your sunscreen before purchasing.
