1 dead in I-77 collision in Lexington County

1 person died following a single-vehicle collision on I-77 near mile marker 1 Sunday.
The SC Highway Patrol said a 2013 Toyota Avalon was traveling north on I-77 when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree around 11 am.
The driver, whose identity is unknown at this time, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials say the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Highway Patrol is investigating.
