SC health officials Saturday reported 1 Lexington County death and 4 Richland County deaths.

1 Lexington County death reported

58 new covid-19 cases in county

SC health officials Saturday reported 1 Lexington County death and 4 Richland County deaths. 

The Lexington County covid-19 death occurred last Thursday.

1 Richland County death occurred Friday. 

The other 3 occurred earlier and were reported late.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control also announced Saturday:

- 639 new confirmed cases and 22 new probable cases.

Lexington County had 58 new cases.

Richland County had 84, the highest in SC.

- 27 additional confirmed deaths and no new probable deaths.

- Confirmed cases to date are 141,338, probable cases 3,935, confirmed deaths 3,141 and 182 probable deaths.

Late reporting

Clemson University’s lab reported Friday more than 15,000 negative and positive test results.

These include about 500 individual positive results from June 6 to Sept. 25.

That means about 14,500 tests were negative as uninfected.

DHEC continues to urge labs to report results in 24 hours.

Testing in South Carolina
As of yesterday, 1,352,583 tests have been conducted in the state.

6,451 individual test results were reported yesterday statewide.

Of these, the percent positive was 9.9% infected.

That means 90.1% tested negative as uninfected.
