Another Lexington County death and 7 new covid-19 cases were reported Tuesday.
That brings the county's total to 518 confirmed cases and 27 deaths.
In Columbia and Richland County, no deaths Tuesday but 12 new cases were reported.
Department of Health and Environmental Control officials announced 137 new cases and 8 additional deaths in the state.
This brings the total to 9,056 cases and 399 deaths.
6 who died were elderly individuals in Dillon (1), Greenville (4), and Lexington (1) counties.
2 were niddle-aged individuals in Cherokee (1) and Horry (1) counties.
The number of new cases by county are Abbeville (1), Aiken (1), Anderson (6), Bamberg (1), Barnwell (2), Beaufort (5), Berkeley (1), Charleston (8), Cherokee (1), Chesterfield (3), Clarendon (3), Darlington (8), Dillon (1), Dorchester (1), Fairfield (6), Florence (6), Greenville (31), Greenwood (1), Horry (7), Kershaw (1), Lee (4), Lexington (7), Marion (1), Marlboro (1), Newberry (1), Orangeburg (2), Pickens (1), Richland (12), Spartanburg (4), Sumter (2), Williamsburg (3), York (5)
Recognizing EMS Workers during National EMS Week
DHEC and the South Carolina EMS Association are proud to recognize our state’s emergency medical services (EMS) professionals during National EMS Week, which May 17-20.
South Carolina has 268 EMS agencies and 11,272 emergency personnel that includes first responders, EMTs, and paramedics.
In addition to responding to emergency calls day and night, EMS professionals are critical innt of the state’s covid-19 response.
